Pentacost Prose

When Jared and I went to a conference in Minneapolis two summers ago (2006), we had the chance to visit Solomon’s Porch on a Sunday. As it turns out, it was Pentecost Sunday, and it was an amazing experience.

Anyway, I was given a small piece of prose to read. I don’t know who wrote it. But I recently refound this scrap piece of paper, and the power of the words spoke to my heart. I share it here:

I heard about your tongues of fire
Spreading word to heart and soul
Burning goal; burning desire
Redeeming the dead the broken the torn
All to mission; none to mourn
But I want to speak fire now
And it rains in my heart.
Bow! Spark!
